Regulations

What are the opinions and the recommendations in prevention?

In France, in 2009 and 2010, the Haut Conseil de la Santé Publique (HCSP) proposes recommendations concerning carbone nanotubes and silver nanoparticles use.

The ANSES (“Agence Nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail”) and the INRS (“Institut nationale de recherche et de sécurité”) have also issued opinions and recommendations on use and protection related to nanoparticles.

In the 2014 report, the ANSES brought the light the very differenthazard characteristics of nanoparticles and the great complexity to understand the exposure scenarios for humans and the environment. The ANSES recommends the implementation of specific tools to a better risk control thanks to a reinforced regulatory framework.

The ANSES is also published recommendations with the aim of adjusting the REACH regulation to taking into account the specific characteristics of nanomaterials. The objective of this setting is to reinforce the traceability of nanomaterials integrated into consumer goods from the production to the delivery.
