Elimination

How does circulatory system elimination work?

In the case of a dispersion of particles in the circulatory system, their elimination in the urine is possible. This is the most favorable hypothesis: some nanoparticles would have a lifespan of a few hours in the organism and would be rejected without damage.

Toxicokinetic process.

Many studies are in progress on this topic. The following examples cannot reflect the current state of scientific knowledge.

SiO2 nanoparticles orally administered to rats were fully eliminated in the urine and in the faecal excretions [J-A. Lee et al., International Journal of Nanomedicine 9 (2014) 251-260].
